Takoda CampingA warm welcome awaits at Takoda Camping, a quiet family campsite situated amid the dramatic scenery of the Eden Valley. Our newly opened campsite located to the north of Kirkby Stephen is quietly situated in open countryside but just five to ten minutes walk from the town and its amenities. Our two acre site has its southern boundary on the banks of the River Eden and, being a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), has lots of interesting wildlife and plants as well as being a lovely calming place to relax. The site benefits from an office/reception for booking in which also has general supplies such as milk, eggs, tent pegs and gas cylinders etc. Tourist information for local attractions can also be found here. The main amenity block contains ladies and gents toilets with vanity units and free unlimited hot showers. There is a small separate room with two sinks for washing cooking utensils and a washing machine and drier. To the front of the building the large 'snug' room offers tables and chairs with a nice outlook onto the site where guests can relax or meet. This can also be a respite should the weather become inclement.
We are open from Easter weekend 22 April 2011 through to the end of October.
