Clematis Cottage

Ideal for long and short breaks, this stone built cottage, formerly a coach house, was erected early in the 1700s. Now renovated to modern day standards, with top quality insulation and heating making it warm and cosy. Exposed wooden beams and lintels, deep stone windowsills and distinctive curved walls create a unique feel.

Completely self contained with all amenities Clematis Cottage has a large, light airy beamed, triple aspect bedroom with en suite shower room and super kingsize bed which can be easily converted into two full sized single beds.

The fully equipped kitchen area has been designed to appeal to those who enjoy cooking, a full sized hob and cooker plus a microwave oven and a Miele dishwasher. Comfortable seating and a large screen tv is provided. Wifi accessible. Off road parking with security lighting is in the adjoining private courtyard with an EV charging point available for our guests.

Guests have use of the walled kitchen garden from where, on a clear day, can be seen Blencathra and Skiddaw. Seating with sun umbrella is provided in both the walled garden and the courtyard.

Surrounded by the Yorkshire Dales National Park, The North Pennines and the Lake District, there is an incredible choice to explore in the heart of fabulous walking country. Wainwright’s Pennine Journey passes by the cottage.

Situated within the area’s Roman legacy the property provides a fascinating backdrop to a stay in Cumbria.
