Thursday 1st August – Kirkby Stephen Memory Club – Methodist Hall, Kirkby Stephen

Saturday 3rd August – South Stainmore Coffee Morning – St Stephen’s Church

10..30 am to 12 noon.  First Saturday of the month.  £2 for unlimited tea, coffee, juice, biscuits and chatting.  Everyone welcome!


Sunday 4th August – Duck Race – Musgrave Church Field

12 noon.  1st prize £50, 2nd prize £30 3rd prize £20 – worth spending £2!  Ducks will be £2 each, on sale in local shops or on the field prior to the race.  The race will be followed by a BBQ at Musgrave Institute.  Adults £8, children 5 – 11 years £4.

Sunday 6th August – Car Boot Sale – Kirkby Stephen Market Square

Friday 9th August – Kirkby Stephen Hearing Services – Kirkby Stephen Local Links

10 am to 12 noon. Kirkby Stephen Hearing Services run their clinics for anyone needing repairs or servicing to their hearing aids, here at the Local Links on the 2nd Friday of each month.  This service is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY – please ring 07724132277.

Hearing aid batteries can be provided here at Local Links, free of charge, if you are registered at a doctors in Eden.  Our opening hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 10am to 12 noon, and 1 pm to 3 pm. Please bring details of the battery size you require.

Saturday 10th August – `Good Golly Miss Molly’ – The Pennine

8.30 pm til late.  £5 per ticket to raise money for our wonderful Great North Air Ambulance service.  The amazing Good Golly Miss Molly is coming to entertain you with games, Cabaret, Karaoke and of course who doesn’t like a cheesy disco?  Enjoy a fabulous evening of entertainment.

Thursday 15th August – Brough Show – Popping Lane, Kaber

Pony classes, children’s riding classes, mounted fancy dress and pony gymkhana, sheep & young handler classes, horticulture, flowers & fine art, confectionery, cakes, needlework, photography & art, vintage tractors and vehicles, & much more …..Bringing the community together, Brough Agricultural Show promotes what is great about agriculture and farming in the Upper Eden area.   The show field at Kaber is alongside the A685, easily accessible with free parking.

Saturday 17th August – Brough Farmers’ & Artisan Market – Brough Memorial Hall

9 am to 12 pm.  You’ll find yourself surrounded by a vibrant array of stalls featuring the freshest produce, handcrafted treasures and much more.  It’s the ultimate shopping experience for those who appreciate good quality, community and all things local!

Saturday 17th August – Railwayana  Show (Stalls) – Stainmore Railway Company at Kirkby Stephen East

10 am to 4 pm.  Please come and visit us for our latest monthly event.

Sunday 25th August – Musgrave Village Show 

This is a fun show, you don’t have be a brilliant crafter, or cook, or gardener, there are classes for everyone.  There will be refreshments, tombola, bottle stall, raffle, bat-a-rat, tin can alley, ping pong, a pet show and a dog agility course.

Tuesday 27th August – Barnardo’s present `Online Safety Group’ – Kirkby Stephen Youth Centre

1 pm to 3 pm.  Help parents and caregivers talk with their children about key online safety topics through the joy of Lego play.  Age range 5-10 years old.  Topics covered: Cyberbullying, digital footprints, false information , online security, privacy and safe sharing, screen time
