Friday 1st December – `Piece of Work’ – Soulby Village Hall

Friday 1st December – `Carols by the Green’ – Outside the Bay Horse, Winton

6 pm.  In harmony with the Christmas lights switch on.  Backing music and carol sheets provided.  Bring along your best singing voice and maybe a torch.

Saturday 2nd December – Christmas Fair – Warcop Parish Hall

10 am to 12 noon.  Lots of lovely stalls by local businesses and crafters, festive games for all the family, school bake stall, raffle and tombola and many more….Everyone’s welcome.  £3 per entry includes mince pie/biscuit and drink.  Kids free

Saturday 2nd December – Ravenstonedale Craft and Produce Fair – Ravenstonedale Heritage Centre

10 am to 2 pm. Refreshments and stalls.  Pottery, cards, Jewellry, paper craft, cakes and many more stalls.

Saturday 2nd December – South Stainmore Coffee Morning – St Stephen’s Church.

10.30 am to 12 noon.  Only £2 for unlimited tea, coffee, juice, biscuits and chatting.  Everyone welcome! Proceeds to St Stephen’s Church.

Saturday 2nd December – Christmas Bingo – Winton Village Hall

A dose of festive cheer! Doors open 7 pm. eyes down at 7.30 pm prompt.  A great night of prize bingo, fun for all the family, including refreshments and raffle.

Sunday 3rd December – MIND Charity Coffee Morning – Brough Memorial Hall

10 am to 2 pm.  Join us to raise money for MIND – Mental Health Charity.  MIND provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Local craft stalls and raffle.

Wednesday 6th December – Community Choir Christmas Concert – Kirkby Stephen Parish Church

Begins 7 pm. The Laal Church Mouse invites everyone to the Parish Church tomorrow night (Wed 6th Dec)for the splendid annual Upper Eden Community Choir Christmas Concert.  Special guests include the Kirkby Stephen Young Singers & guest soloists. Concert starts at 7.30 finishes at 9pm. It’s just the ticket to get us in the Christmas Spirit.  Look forward to seeing you !!

Thursdays 7th & 21st December – Upper Eden Memory Club – Kirkby Stephen Methodist Church

10.30 am to 12 noon.

We continue to meet alternate Thursdays at KIrkby Stephen Methodist Church (opposite the Spar Shop), where we enjoy fellowship over tea and coffee followed by guided activities and usually end with singing some favourite songs of old. For people with memory problems , who are disabled or who are lonely.  Enjoy time with friends.  Also offering help and support for carers. No need to book, just turn up.  Do you know of anyone who may benefit?

Friday 8th December – Kirkby Stephen Hearing Services – Kirkby Stephen Local Links

10 am to 12 noon. Kirkby Stephen Hearing Services run their clinics for anyone needing repairs or servicing to their hearing aids, here at the Local Links on the 2nd Friday of each month.  This service is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY – please ring 07724132277.

Hearing aid batteries can be provided here at Local Links, free of charge, if you are registered at a doctors in Eden.  Our opening hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 10am to 12 noon, and 1 pm to 3 pm. Please bring details of the battery size you require.

Friday 8th & Saturday 9th December – The Vagabonds present `Alice in Neverwonderland – St Oswald’s Church, Ravenstonedale

An entertainment in words and music.  Written and directed by John Barnard.  Doors and bar (cash only) open 7.00 pm. Suitable for all ages.  FREE ENTRY – Retiral collection in aid of Growing Well and St Oswald’s Church.

Saturday 9th December – Eden Animal Rescue Fundraising Stall – The Cloisters, Kirkby Stephen

We will be here in Kirkby Stephen for the last Christmas stall. We will be selling Christmas wrapped preserves, Piccalilli, Green Chille Chutney, Tangy Marmalade and Rhubarb and Ginger Jam. A selection of home baking including Christmas wrapped Ginger Biscuits and Shortbread Biscuits made with butter. The stall will be open from 9.00 am til 2.00 pm.  Come early to avoid disappointment.

Saturday 9th December – Stainmore Railway and Kirkby Stephen Community Christmas Fayre – Stainmore Railway Company

10 am to 4 pm. Our annual Christmas Fayre will feature local food producers, crafts and much more.  FREE admission with charges for train rides.  FREE vintage bus rides between Brough, Kirkby Stephen and the venue including pick up from the mainline station (unless the train service is disrupted).  Refreshments in our 1930’s Gresley buffet car and a well stocked shop of Christmas gifts.

Saturday 9th December – Coffee morning – Warcop Parish Hall

10 – 11.30 am.  Tea or coffee (including free refill) and biscuits for £1.50, plus bacon rolls, with vegetarian alternatives, and scones for purchase.  Come along for a good old chat! Includes collection for Great North Air Ambulance so please start gathering for this vital cause.

Saturday 16th December – Brough Farmers’ and Artisan Market – Brough Memorial Hall

9 am to 12 pm.  Join us for a festive farewell to 2023 at our Christmas Farmers’ & Artisan Market. Explore a winter wonderland of fresh, local produce, handmade gifts, and seasonal delights. The stall holders at Brough would love to see you there. Last minute Christmas gifts and a warm welcome guaranteed.
