Monday 2nd December – `An exploration of Yellowstone Park’ – by Cumbria Wildlife Trust
14.30 to 16.30. Explore the history, ecology and geology of Yellowstone Park with Richard Arrowsmith, who visited the Park in 2018

Thursday 12th December – Alison Neil presents `Mrs Beaton, My Sister’ – Soulby Village Hall
Mrs Beeton, My Sister recalls the extraordinary life of Mrs Beeton. The eldest of 21 children and brought up in the Grand Stand at Epsom Race Course, Isabella Beeton fell for a publisher and joined his rackety life in journalism, culminating in her world-famous `Book of Household Management’ in 1861. Award-winning playwright Alison Neil provides a lively retelling of the entertaining and moving story of Isabella Beeton’s surprising life, seen through the eyes of her endearing sister, Bessie.

Monday 16th December – Upper Eden HIstory Society presents `Around the Farmhouse Fireplace’ talk given by Christine Craghill – Kirkby Stephen Grammar School
The Upper Eden History Society meets October to April 7.30pm, in the Coffee Bar, Kirkby Stephen Grammar School, for a series of monthly lectures, usually the third Monday in each month. Visitors very welcome. £3 per meeting.
