December Events

Monday 9th November to Friday 4th December – Collection re Care Leaver’s Christmas Hampers – Kirkby Stephen Local Links

Last year hampers were given to 42 Care Leavers in Carlisle and Eden by the Leaving Care Team and they were hugely appreciated by the young people involved.

This year has been especially challenging for young people who’ve recently left care and many have reported feeling lonely and isolated and unloved.

The hampers are one way of showing them that they are valued and that people do care.

Donations of [new] – mugs, cooking utensils, bedding, toiletries, throws, towels, hot water bottles, Christmas sweets/biscuits, non-perishable Christmas food [including hot-chocolate], slipper-socks, hats, gloves and scarves – would be very welcome.

Please ring 017683 71775 to make an appointment to drop off any donated items.

Tuesday 8th December – Eden Hearing Services Drop In Session – Church House, Vicarage Drive, Kirkby Stephen

Eden Hearing Services are resuming their service, but for a TEMPORARY period will be by appointment only, and at the Church House.  For further information and to make an appointment, please contact Robert Bolton on 07846 512366.

Saturday 19th December – Christmas in the Cloisters – Kirkby Stephen Cloisters

10am to 3pm.  This Christmas, Kirkby Stephen is hoping to welcome a very special visitor with some special treats for our youngest residents.  Come along to see our socially distanced Santa and his helpers!  There is no need to book a slot, but please queue in the Church Green to ensure children are not on the roadside and keep 2m between household groups.
