9.30 am to 10.30 am. With local representatives Pauline and Sabrina. A supportive, welcoming and friendly environment to share experiences and learn from each other. You are not alone! Thursday 4th June – Nearly New and Second Hand Clothes sale – Soulby Village Hall
1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Come and join us for coffee (or tea) and biscuits and rummage around the preloved and nearly new clothes. Sale items £2 each or 3 for a fiver. Proceeds to go to The Barnhill Donkey Retreat. Free entry. Raffle
Friday 5th June – Lunesdale Fox Hounds Dog Show – Upper Eden Rugby Club
5 pm gates open. Terriers, lurchers and gun dogs. Judging starts at 6 pm. BBQ, bar and raffle. £5 entry, kids free.
Saturday 6th June – Soup and sweet – St Stephen’s Church, South Stainmore

Friday 12th June – Kirkby Stephen Hearing Services (by Upper Eden Rotary Club) – Kirkby Stephen Local Links
10 am to 12 noon. Kirkby Stephen Hearing Services run their clinics for anyone needing repairs or servicing to their hearing aids, here at the Local Links on the 2nd Friday of each month. This service is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY – please ring 07724132277.
Hearing aid batteries can be provided here at Local Links, free of charge, if you are registered at a doctors in Eden. Our opening hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 10am to 12 noon, and 1 pm to 3 pm. Please bring details of the battery size you require.

Friday 19th June – Kirkby Stephen Community Arts present `Sometimes, Always, Never’ (12) – The Club, Kirkby Stephen.
A detective fantasy/family drama where a love of words helps a father reconnect with a missing son.

Friday 19th June – Quiz Night – Brough Memorial Hall
7 pm. Do you have what it takes to be the local quiz champion? Then gather your friends, support your community village hall and join us for our third Quiz Night with Quiz Master Richard Want.

Saturday 20th June – Come and Sing – Haydn and Friends – St Lawrence’s Church, Appleby
10.30 am to 4.00 pm. Music by Haydn, Mozart and others will feature as we look through, work on and explore both well – known and little – known music on our return to this beautiful setting. Monday 22nd June – Upper Eden Silver Circle presents `The Limestone Cowgirl’ – Soulby Village Hall
1.30 pm. An afternoon of great country music. Admission £5 including refreshments. All welcome.
Thursday 25th June – Warcop Parish Hall Cinema presents `The Penguin Lessons’ (12A) – Warcop Parish Hall
Doors open 7.15 pm, starts 7.30 pm. Steve Coogan stars as a disillusioned Englishman who goes to work in a school in a divided Argentina in 1976 and finds his life transformed when he rescues an orphaned penguin from the beach. A feel good comedy. Also starts Jonathan Pryce.
Tickets on the door £5. Refreshments available.
Saturday 27th June – Eden Animal Rescue Stall – The Cloisters, Kirkby Stephen
9 am to 1.30 pm. Gill and Barbara invite you to their stall in aid of Eden Animal Rescue. Special this month – gooseberry jam made with fruit from our own gardens. There will also be a new type of chutney along with our usual sweet picalilli and tangy marmalade. Baking products includes shortbread and ginger biscuits, Victoria sandwich, Fruit loaves, Bakewell tarts, quiches, sponge puddings and scones. Produce made by us, just for you. Looking forward to seeing all our loyal customers – thank you all for your continued support.
