Saturday 2nd May – Community Activity Event – Westgarth Play Area

12 til 3 pm. Get to know your local services with stalls from the fire service, police and WFC.  BYO cake and chat area.  Free outdoor activities.  Litter picking with free ice cream for children who join in.

Saturday 2nd May to 9th May – Pop Up Pump Track – Westgarth Play Area

Open during daytime hours.  Open to everyone of all ages.  Provided free of charge for all.  Helmets must be worn and safety guidelines followed at all times.  No booking needed, just turn up.

Saturday 2nd May to Monday 4th May – Art and Craft Exhibition – Warcop Parish Hall

10 am to 4 pm.  Annual exhibition of Paintings, Drawings, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography and Crafts by local artists.  Original artwork, prints and cards for sale.  Competitions, raffle and activities for children.  Art and craft demonstrations and workshops – see http://www.warcopparishhall.co.uk

Foyer Cafe serviing delcious food and drinks each day.  Admission – Adults £2.50, Children free.  All proceeds to Warcop Parish Hall.

Friday 8th May – Kirkby Stephen Hearing Services (by Upper Eden Rotary Club) – Kirkby Stephen Local Links

10 am to 12 noon. Kirkby Stephen Hearing Services run their clinics for anyone needing repairs or servicing to their hearing aids, here at the Local Links on the 2nd Friday of each month.  This service is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY – please ring 07724132277.

Hearing aid batteries can be provided here at Local Links, free of charge, if you are registered at a doctors in Eden.  Our opening hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 10am to 12 noon, and 1 pm to 3 pm. Please bring details of the battery size you require.

Saturday 9th May and Sunday 10th May – The Loki Festival – Kirkby Stephen Parish Church and Churchyard

The festival will feature live Viking re-enactments, family-friendly activities, and the opportunity to see the 10th Century Loki stone of which there are only 2 in Europe.  The festival will host Herlid Vikings, Cumbria’s leading Dark Age re-enactment group.  Their authentic encampment will showcase weapons demonstrations, craft displays and demonstrations of every day Viking life, including cooking, clothing repair and blacksmithing.  The event highlights the area’s long history and its Norse connections.

10 am to 11.30 am.  Donations for Chapel Funds

Saturday 16th May – Brough Farmers and Makers Market – Brough Memorial Hall

9 am to 12 noon.  With extra stallholders for 2026 and a special stall holder guest appearance every month, we cannot wait to support local people and local businesses.  All we need now is you!

Free entry.  Tea, coffee and homemade cakes available

Sunday 17th May – Great North Air Ambulance Bag Collection – Brough Memorial Hall

Monday 18th May – Songs of Love and Peace – St James’ Church, Tebay

7.30 pm.  Presented by Tebay Community Choir.  Free admission – donations welcome in aid of sunbeams music trust.

Wednesday 20th May – Summer Concert – Kirkby Stephen Parish Church

7.30 pm.  Kirkby Stephen young singers and talented young musicians.  Tickets available on the door – Adults £5, children free.  This is a fundraising concert for Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue in memory of Arthur Littlefair.

Thursday 21st May – Warop Remote Cinema present `Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’ (PG) – Warcop Parish Hall

Doors open 7.15 pm for 7.30 start.  Tickets on the door £5.  Refreshments served.

Saturday 23rd May – Eden Animal Rescue Stall – Kirkby Stephen Cloisters

9 am to 1 pm.  Gill and Barbara invite you to their stall in aid of Eden Animal Rescue.  Selling piccalilli, green tomato chutney, tangy marmalade.  We also have a variety of home made baking including some new items.  Thank you all for your continued support.

Saturday 23rd May – Quiz Night – Ravenstonedale Community and Heritage Centre

7.30 pm.  £5 per person, teams of up to 6 people.  Prizes for the winning teams.  You can bring your own drinks and snacks.  There will also be a limited cash bar for selling beer, lager, wine and soft drinks.  All proceeds to the upkeep of the RCHC.
